What has happened?
On 19 December, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced the launch of the new Abu Dhabi International Arbitration Centre, known also as arbitrateAD.
When will it launch?
1 February 2024.
What about the current Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre (ADCCAC)?
Arbitrations that are commenced on or after 1 February 2024 will be administered by arbitrateAD. Arbitrations currently administered by, or pending administration by, ADCCAC will continue to be administered by ADCCAC.
What other details are there?
Details are currently limited. We do know, however, that there will be a Board of Directors, comprising pre-eminent individuals from the arbitration world, together with a separate Court of Arbitration.
