Terms of Service

Date: 5 October 2026

These Terms govern access to and use of the Disclosure website at disclosure.legal (the “Website”). By using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

1.  About Disclosure

1.1  Disclosure is a platform for sharing legal knowledge, expertise and ideas. It publishes articles and other materials prepared by independent contributors, including lawyers and other professionals (“Content”).

1.2  You may contact us at [contact email address].

2.  Information only; no legal advice

2.1  Content is provided for general information and discussion only. It is not legal advice and should not be treated as a substitute for advice on your particular circumstances.

2.2  Use of the Website, reading Content or contacting a contributor through a linked website does not create a lawyer-client relationship with Disclosure, the contributor or the contributor’s law firm.

2.3  Laws, regulations and market practice change. Content may not reflect the latest legal or regulatory position and may not apply in your jurisdiction. You should obtain suitably qualified professional advice before acting or refraining from acting in reliance on any Content.

2.4  Unless expressly stated otherwise, views expressed in Content are those of the relevant contributor. They do not necessarily represent the views of Disclosure, any contributor’s firm, employer, clients or professional body.

3.  Contributors and editorial control

3.1  Contributors are responsible for the accuracy, legality and originality of the Content they submit and for ensuring that they are entitled to publish it. Publication by Disclosure does not amount to endorsement or verification of a contributor, their qualifications, services, statements or opinions.

3.2  We may review, edit, format, decline, suspend or remove Content at any time, including where we consider that it is inaccurate, outdated, unlawful, misleading, inappropriate, infringes third-party rights or is inconsistent with our editorial standards.

3.3  We are not obliged to monitor all Content or to update Content after publication. Publication dates and, where applicable, update dates should be considered when reading an article.

4. Third-party websites and contributor profiles

4.1  The Website may link to websites operated by third parties, including a contributor’s law firm website, professional biography, social-media page or other external resource (“Third-Party Sites”). These links are provided for identification and convenience only.

4.2  Third-Party Sites are not operated or controlled by Disclosure. We do not accept responsibility for their availability, security, content, accuracy, privacy practices, terms, products or services. A link does not mean that Disclosure endorses, recommends or is associated with the relevant site, firm, contributor, product or service.

4.3  Contributor biographies, titles, qualifications, admissions, experience and contact details displayed on or obtained through Third-Party Sites are supplied and maintained by the relevant third party. Disclosure does not independently verify or guarantee that information and is not responsible if it is incomplete, inaccurate or out of date.

4.4  If you follow a link, you do so at your own discretion and subject to the terms and privacy policy of the Third-Party Site. Any communication, engagement or other relationship with a contributor or their firm is solely between you and that person or firm. Disclosure is not a party to it and does not receive or hold itself out as receiving instructions on their behalf.

4.5  You should carry out your own checks before instructing a lawyer or law firm, including confirming identity, professional status, regulatory authorisation, conflicts, scope, fees and the terms of engagement.

5. Intellectual property

5.1  The Website, its design, branding and platform materials are owned by or licensed to Disclosure and are protected by intellectual property laws.

5.2  Unless stated otherwise, copyright in individual Content remains with the relevant contributor or rights holder. Contributors grant Disclosure the rights needed to host, reproduce, format, edit for style, display, distribute, promote and archive their Content on the Website and Disclosure’s related channels.

5.3  You may access and share links to Content for personal, non-commercial and informational purposes. You may quote brief extracts with clear attribution and a link to the original article, where legally permitted. You must not reproduce, republish, scrape, sell, commercially exploit, remove attribution from or create derivative works from substantial parts of the Website or Content without the relevant rights holder’s prior written permission.

5.4  Trade marks, names and logos appearing on Third-Party Sites belong to their respective owners. No licence to use them is granted by these Terms.

6. Acceptable use

6.1  You must use the Website lawfully and must not: (a) interfere with its operation or security; (b) introduce malicious code; (c) attempt unauthorised access; (d) use automated means to extract substantial Content or data; (e) infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights; (f) impersonate another person; or (g) use the Website in a way that is fraudulent, defamatory, threatening or otherwise unlawful.

6.2  You may link to the Website fairly and lawfully, provided the link does not suggest an association, approval or endorsement that does not exist. We may ask you to remove a link where we reasonably consider it misleading, harmful or unlawful.

7. Availability and changes

7.1  The Website and Content are provided on an “as available” basis. We may change, suspend, withdraw or restrict any part of the Website without notice. We do not guarantee that the Website will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or free from errors or harmful components.

7.2  We may correct, update or remove Content, but we are not obliged to do so. We may also change these Terms from time to time by posting an updated version on the Website. The effective date shown above will identify the current version.

8. Disclaimers and liability

8.1  To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Disclosure gives no representation or warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, currency, reliability, suitability or availability of the Website, Content or Third-Party Sites.

8.2  To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Disclosure and its officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, consequential, special or punitive loss, or any loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill, anticipated savings or data, arising from or connected with the Website, Content, Third-Party Sites or reliance on them.

8.3  Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability to the extent that it cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.

9. Privacy and cookies

9.1  Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data. Our Cookie Notice explains our use of cookies and similar technologies. Those documents form part of the information governing your use of the Website.

9.2  Third-Party Sites process personal data under their own privacy notices. Disclosure is not responsible for their processing activities.

10. Reporting concerns

10.1  If you believe that Content infringes intellectual property rights, breaches confidentiality, contains personal data that should not be published, or is otherwise unlawful or materially inaccurate, please contact [content/legal email address] with sufficient details to identify the material and explain your concern.

10.2  We may investigate and take any action we consider appropriate, but are not obliged to resolve disputes between users, contributors and third parties.

11. General

11.1  If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

11.2  A delay or failure by us to enforce a right does not waive that right.

11.3  These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice, constitute the agreement between you and Disclosure concerning use of the Website. They do not govern any engagement between you and a contributor or law firm.

11.4  No person other than you and Disclosure has any right to enforce these Terms, except that Disclosure’s officers, employees and agents may rely on clauses intended for their protection.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

12.1  These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

12.2  The courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to you as a consumer.
